Myka, I've been a fan for the last 10 years of you and the whole Project B family. I've been to at least 50 shows between then and now. I've always been a "face in the crowd". I've never talked one-on-one with you, but, I've gave you the ritual fist-pound "respect" numerous times. Your creativeness and versatyle rhyming style has always enlightened me. My whole life I have always been into different genres of music. Thanks to you, I found a great appretiation for jazz music also. All these things have been a "journey" for me. Through listening to your lyrics, I heard some Islamic refrences. Although, they're were not so specific. Sometimes a sporadic "Allahu Akbar" in a freestyle, or making "7 circumambulations around the Kaaba" in a track. These refrences captured my intrest in Islam. From there, doing my own research and reading the Qur'an I developed a deep look into myself. For the last year, alhamdullilah, praise be to Allah, I've been a practicing Muslim. Being a white American Muslim has been both easy and hard at the same time. You realize who your "true" friends and family are. I quit drinking and smoking weed, alhamdullilah. It is said that whoever guides someone to Islam recieves blessings from it. Inshallah, Allah willing, Myka you recieve some blessings from your lyrics that guided me. In Islam there is a big debate whether or not music is forbidden. I still listen to hip hop, but, mostly to Muslim artists, and of course the Blowedians. I try to keep it positive. ANyways Myka, I justed wanted you to be aware of my journey in this life. I will make Dua' or prayers for your guidence in this life and success in the next. Respect.
